Turn Clothespins into Dragons
You can turn an ordinary clothespin into a terrifying mythical beast - and it’s a lot easier than you suspect! If your clothespin isn’t already green, step one is to paint it green. Then you simply need googly eyes, construction paper, and glue. Glue on the eyes (these will go near the front of the clothespin so that when you squeeze it the “mouth” opens). Then cut out your green construction paper in the shape of wings. Glue them on, then add any extra embellishments you like! Pipe cleaners can make for great “dragon flames” for example.
Design Your Own Dragon Necklace
For this, refer back to your favorite of our dragon coloring pages. Cut out just the dragon part, getting rid of the background. You may want to put the dragon on firmer paper like cardstock. Then you can seal it with something like Mod Podge to help it last longer. Punch two holes in the top and thread your string through to complete the necklace.
Create Your Own Dragon Eggs
Step one of this craft is to go out in the backyard and find some nice, egg-shaped stones. Flat, clean stones that are roughly oval in shape are best. Clean them up, then start painting! This is a great craft for the kids because there are really no rules. Glue on rhinestones and other embellishments and paint to your heart’s content. Breathe Fire Like a Dragon
Do all those dragon pictures make you want to be a dragon yourself? We understand. Luckily, it’s easy to breathe fire even as a human. All you have to do is grab an old toilet paper tube. Paint it green, then staple or glue red and orange paper at one end to be the “fire.” Thin paper like tissue paper is great for this because it will flutter around a lot when you blow through the opposite end of the tube (you can find this paper in the party section of any store).
Make a Dragon Ornament for the Holidays
This is a great craft if you want to preserve the beautiful art you made via our dragon coloring pages. Much like the necklace you made, you may want to start by cutting out your favorite dragon from our coloring sheet dragons. Eliminate the background so you have a nice clean dragon (already colored, of course). Then add a sturdy backing like cardstock and give it a couple coats of Mod Podge to help protect it. Punch one hole this time and thread some ribbon through so you can hang it up to decorate for a holiday or birthday.
