Eco-Friendly Craft Ideas for Your Earth Day Coloring Pages
Keep celebrating Earth Day with these eco-friendly craft projects. The best part is that all of these projects use your Earth Day coloring pages as part of the craft!
Reuse Your Coloring Page as a Card or Decoration
If you have any events coming up, you can use your Earth Day coloring pages for cards or decorations. They make great cards in particular, especially because they’re so personal. A hand colored card is extra special to the recipient.
You can also use your Earth Day coloring pages as decorations. Maybe you’re having an Earth Day celebration, but you can even use these for a totally unrelated birthday or holiday event. Whatever the occasion, break out the coloring pages to delight your guests. It’s a great way to keep your coloring sheets around instead of throwing them in the trash.
Make Paper Mache Pots for Plants
What better way of celebrating Earth Day than by planting something? And you can decorate the pots and planters with your Earth Day coloring pages! After coloring your sheets in, you can apply them like paper mache. You’ll need some Mod Podge for this. Mix and match some Earth Day coloring pages to get a colorful design.
Use an Old Toilet Paper Roll for a Windsock
An old toilet paper roll makes a great start for a windsock to hang on the porch or in the garden on Earth Day. You can use your Earth Day coloring pages to add colorful tails to the windsock. Simply cut the coloring page into strips and attach it to the toilet paper roll. Attach a string on the opposite end of the roll so you can hang it off of something.
Make Art or a Collage
Instead of throwing out your Earth Day coloring sheets when you’re done, turn them into a piece of art you can hang onto for a long time to come. All you need to do is treat your coloring sheets the same way you’d treat the pages of a magazine. Cut them up and paste them onto a sturdy piece of cardstock, building a brand new dazzling design out of the various scraps.
Create Paper Coil Jewelry
This is a super fun craft. Like with the windsock, you’ll be cutting your completed Earth Day coloring page into long strips. Then you need to roll those strips up into super tight coils. Apply glue along the way so the coil stays tight when you reach the end. These coils will form the basis of your jewelry. You can thread them onto a string to make a bracelet or use them as the centerpiece of a handmade necklace. This craft is just about the prettiest way ever to recycle!
