Simple Food Coloring Page Crafts
Don’t pack up the craft supplies after you finish coloring your food coloring pages. There is a bunch more you can do with them if you want to get crafty. Here’s a few of our favorite craft ideas.
Make a Meal Calendar
Family meals can be tough, but you can make them fun with food coloring pages. You may want to choose a coloring page that has a lot of small objects on it. That’s because you’ll be cutting them out after you color them and adding them to a calendar. We have a lot of blank calendars you can use as a starting point. Add a turkey to a special Friday night when you know you want to make a big dinner, or mark a special ice cream outing with an ice cream your kids colored themselves. It’s a great way to make meals a fun family experience.
Track Fruits and Veggies
You can use the same trick to make fruits and veggies more fun for your kids. A lot of kids dread these foods, but you can turn eating them into a fun game by tracking them with food coloring pages. Again, cut out the relevant food items. Make a chart, assigning one food to each row. For example, broccoli might get one row, apples another, carrots another, etc. Your kids will have fun marking down each time they eat these healthier foods.
Learn About Nutrition
Food coloring pages are a great way to learn about nutrition. If you’re a teacher, you could even use food coloring pages in class. While kids color, you can teach them about food and nutrition. Maybe it’s a lesson about how various fruits grow on trees that you pair with fruit coloring pages, or a lesson on balanced diets that you can pair with food coloring pages like burgers, vegetables, and even dessert foods.
Decorate for a Holiday
We have lots of holiday food coloring pages that are great for those times of the year. You can have your kids help decorate for the holidays by letting them color in some holiday food and then hanging it up. You can go simple and just put things on the refrigerator, or get fancier by cutting out foods and turning them into decorative paper chains and banners to display during the holidays.
Make a Holiday Card
Another great use of holiday food coloring pages is cards. It’s super simple to turn any of these food coloring pages into a holiday card. Simply print the image out on a quarter of the page, then fold the whole page up into a card shape. Of course, you’ll want to color in and decorate your personalized, custom holiday card. Don’t forget to write a holiday message inside. Your recipient will receive a one-of-a-kind card they couldn’t have gotten anywhere else!
