When I think of autumn, I think of my mom's apple pie. It's hands down the best. When the days turn cold, and I get to break out my oversized sweaters, I look forward to all the comfort food, and I always make sure mom is bringing the apples!

While I can’t share the family apple pie recipe (mostly because I’m not privy to such top-secret information), I can share these wonderful apple templates and apple coloring pages with you! Here, you’ll discover a range of apple templates and coloring pages ranging from simple apple outlines to irresistible kawaii apples.

Printable Apple Templates & Outlines

These printable apple templates are perfect for littles! You can print off a few sheets for your students and let them practice coloring. I remember getting an apple printable when I was just a wee sprout myself. We had so much fun learning how to write our names on them and then decorating as we saw fit! Not only is it a great learning experience, but it is also a great way to help your students express themselves.

Below you’ll find apple templates that you can cut out and position yourself! These are great for older children—especially if they’re practicing their cutting and pasting skills. Firstly, you’ll want to have your kids print and cut out the shapes. Glue the shapes down onto a background piece of paper to make your own apple picture! Don’t limit yourself to pasting on plain white paper—mix it up with colored construction paper.

Coloring pages are a fantastic rainy-day activity and a great way to keep your littles entertained (if even for a little while!). Don’t forget to print off as many as you want—they’re free!

Make Apple-Themed Bookmarks

I love to read, and typically my bookmarks consist of the closest thing handy. However, whenever I have spare time, I like to make my own bookmarks. Personally, I prefer thicker cardstock for my bookmarks—that way they’re sure to last longer!

Either print the apple image out onto a piece of cardstock and cut it out for a unique shape or cut and paste multiples onto cardstock for a collage of apple fun! Because we’re doing a bookmark, we’ll want to stay away from crayons. Try to use markers, pens, or anything non-transferable onto the book pages. If you do have a favorite apple image that your little has colored, see if your local library can laminate them for you!

Create Your Own Coloring Book

I can't resist a themed coloring book. I go crazy and print off everything, toss them into a pile, mix them all up, and then compile them all at random in a binder. You can punch your own holes or place them in sheet protectors. If you put your apple coloring pages in sheet protectors, it prevents them from being destroyed while allowing you to edit them further in the future.

Print off extras of each design for the opportunity to create new and fun images. Or you could even arrange each page into a story. Once you’ve colored everything in, try to write a tale that connects all the apples. It might seem silly, but what about Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree? Even apples have a story, and you can spin one!

Birthday and Holiday Fun!

Throwing a party with littles around? Coloring is the best way to get them to sit still, for a small moment in time at least! My favorite thing to do is to get the kids to color in their favorite picture before they find the more active activities. This way, they can express themselves artistically before gorging on sugar and bouncing themselves silly! Once they’re done coloring, you can choose to hang up the apple images for extra décor.

Décor and Wall Art

Apples are a great way to decorate for the fall months—nothing screams autumn like apples. Our apple templates and apple coloring pages are sure to be a hit this year! While you can always print off our free images, there are more ways than simply hanging your masterpieces to dazzle your guests.

If you’re having people over for Thanksgiving, consider creating a strand of colored-in apples. To do this, you’ll need a plethora of our apple printables (or just several of the same design!) and some twine, fishing line, or just a simple strand of yarn. Color in your apples, cut them out, and paste or tape your apples to the strand of your choosing. Personally, I like to be a little more complicated and glue the twine between two identical cutouts to make sure that the back is just as pretty as the front! Hang from the mantle or make it part of your centerpiece. For more cutouts to add to your decorations, see More Free Fall Printables.

Teacher Door Art

For teachers, door art is a badge of honor. It’s a sign that says: Look at how cool my students are! Well, here's your chance. Have your students choose their favorite apple template to color in on a rainy day and cut out their designs to decorate your door.

You can choose to laminate each design for display, or just simply cut, paste, and create an exhibit on your classroom door. Make sure that each student signs their name so that they get credit for their amazing work!
