Make Your Own Safari

You might want to grab a few of our other coloring pages for this one. We suggest the elephant, lion, tiger, and monkey coloring pages. All of these are available on our Animal Coloring Sheets page.

Once you have your animals, giraffes and otherwise, simply color them in and cut them out. You might want to cut out some background imagery like trees, ponds, and plants as well. Now you can mix and match all of your animal coloring page pieces to create your own safari scene. An old shoe box is a great place to glue your pieces. The cardboard is sturdy and you can create a background and foreground simply by placing things in different spots within the shoebox.

Use Your Coloring Pages as Party Decorations

Your giraffe coloring pages can be great party decorations! Plus, it allows your kids to feel like they’re contributing to the festivities. Don’t worry about the coloring pages being perfect. Those little imperfections are what will make your party more special.

You can hang up your giraffe coloring pages to show them off, or string them together to make a banner. You might even cut out certain pieces to create tiny decorative pieces all over. While you’re at it, print out a few extra coloring sheets so guests can color as well.

Create Your Own Magnets to Decorate the Fridge

If you want to preserve your giraffe coloring pages for longer, you can turn them into magnets. This is a lot easier than it sounds. All you need is a magnet, a decent piece of cardstock or cardboard, your giraffe coloring page, and some Mod Podge.

Cut your giraffe coloring page down to an appropriate size for a magnet. This might mean you print it out at a smaller size as well. Attach it to the cardstock or cardboard with glue. Then attach the magnet on the back. Lastly, seal your coloring page with Mod Podge so that the image can weather some wear and tear.

What Do Giraffes Eat?

Giraffes are herbivores! That means they only eat plants. And their absolute favorite plant to munch on is the acacia tree. Those long tongues of theirs help them reach leaves so they can chow down. And boy, do they ever chow down. They can eat almost 100 pounds of leaves and twigs every single day.

Where Do Giraffes Live?

Giraffes come from Africa. Specifically, they live in the savannahs of Africa. These are big open plains and woodlands where giraffes can roam around looking for those tasty acacia trees.

Do Giraffes Have Friends?

Yes! They’re actually very social and like to live in groups, which typically consist of about 15 giraffes. Can you guess what a group of giraffes is called? Maybe it’s because of all those long necks, but a group of giraffes is known as a “tower.”

Why Are Giraffes So Tall?

Speaking of those long necks, why are giraffes so tall, anyway? One of the reasons is to reach the leaves they like so much, but another is so they can keep an eye on predators like lions and hyenas. They can spot a lion from pretty dang far away with their bird’s eye view.
