Free Puppy Coloring Pages Printable PDFs

I’m going to be completely honest—I don’t remember a time when I didn’t have my faithful furry companions in my life. My dogs are my world; anyone who knows me can vouch for that! When I was a young girl, my grandfather used to raise cocker spaniels, and I got the joy of playing with all the puppies. As I grew older, I adopted a ragtag pack of puppies over the years—five of them to be exact! I currently only have two pups, and I couldn’t imagine my life without them.

It’s time to break out the crayons, colored pencils, paints, or whatever your heart desires! Below you’ll find an array of different puppy coloring pages ranging from hounds, pugs, labradors, and more! There are simple outlines for preschoolers and slightly more complicated pages for the more advanced artist, but if you’re feeling creative, don’t hesitate to add more pizzazz! Be wild with your colors and add to the backgrounds (or even bowties for the puppies!).

Cute and Easy Puppy Coloring Pages for Kids

These designs are cute, simple, and perfect for little ones! However, that doesn’t stop me from printing these sheets off for myself. There are few things more rewarding than sitting down with your little one and coloring together!

Challenging Puppy Coloring Pages for Teens and Adults

Are you ready for a little bit of a challenge? These finely detailed and realistic puppy coloring pages are a great opportunity to work on blending colors with colored pencils. My favorite time to color is during a rainstorm; there’s nothing better than filling the time with coloring. I mean, we can’t go for walkies if it’s raining, we may as well color! Don’t forget to print off as many as you want—they’re free!

What to Do with Your Free Puppy Coloring Pages

Wondering what you could do with all these beautifully colored puppy pages? Below are a few ideas as to what you can transform your masterpieces into. Remember, coloring is only half the fun!

Create a Puppy Collage

Once you’ve colored in all your puppy pages, you might want to create your own scene! Making your own collage is a great way to combine all your favorite elements into one picture. I like to get a posterboard from my local art store for collages because it provides a stronger backing.

Pick out your favorite elements from images that you’ve already colored in, and then cut them out. Arrange the cut-outs on your posterboard and paste them into place. Don’t be afraid to add even more to your collage with your colored pencils or crayons!

Make Puppy-Themed Bookmarks

I’m an avid reader, so I need a lot of bookmarks readily available! I like to make my bookmarks out of a thicker paper like cardstock. There are two ways that we can make a puppy-themed bookmark. We can either print the image straight onto a piece of cardstock and cut out the image of the puppy after coloring. Or! We can choose to color a few different images, and create a small-scale collage by pasting elements onto the cardstock.

When it comes to coloring in bookmarks, I always suggest markers, pens, or colored pencils—really any media that won’t transfer onto the book pages (like crayons). You don’t want to accidentally leave your book outside or in a hot car and have the crayon melt to the page. If you can, laminate your bookmark—then you can use it for a long time to come!

Use Them as Cards, Envelopes, or Journal Pages

Journaling can help calm the mind and help you express yourself through both words and art. You can print out a whole sheet, or resize the sheet so that it fits into your journal. Personally, I like to cut out the puppies so that I can paste them where I want. Then, I'll write and doodle around them.

Using the puppy coloring pages for greeting cards can really show that special someone how much you care, especially if they love puppies! Make sure the puppy image only takes up a quarter to half of the page so that you can fold the paper into a card. You might want to print on cardstock for this project!

If you are feeling super fancy, try folding your coloring sheet into an envelope. You could also attempt to blow up the image on a larger sheet of paper and use the page as wrapping paper!

Holiday Fun and Décor

Be it Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Christmas, or even birthdays, don’t forget to print off some puppy coloring sheets to color in with festive colors! Once you’ve colored in your cute puppy images, feel free to decorate your home with them. For example, you can make them into ornaments, collages, wall art, etc. This may be especially fun for the littles in your life (and keep them occupied during get-togethers!).

But don’t stop at decorating your home with these festive pups! They’re also great for binder art, or as door art if you’re a teacher. Giving your students a puppy coloring sheet can help foster their imagination, and it helps them get into a festive spirit when they help decorate!

Create Your Own Coloring Book

This is always a favorite of mine! Sometimes when you’re in the store looking for a good coloring book, you might realize that you only like certain images. But that’s what’s so great about our coloring pages. You can scour our website and find more than just puppy images. Once you find all the images you like, print them out and just go to town!

Personally, I like to have a binder that I collect my images in. This keeps all my hard work together and ready to display. More importantly, it’s great for storing your images in because it protects them from wear and tear. If you have littles, it’s a great way to store their artwork for years to come. When they’re finally teenagers, you can always break out their old artwork and reminisce together!

Wall Art

If keeping your artwork in a binder isn’t for you, then let’s break out some frames and find that perfect spot on the wall. Creating your own galleria is rewarding on so many levels. I mean, it’s great finding that perfect piece to go on your wall, but it’s even more amazing when it’s your (or your kids’) artwork! The best part about making your own wall art is that you can have a constant rotation for what suits the season or mood in your home.

Don’t forget, you can print off as many of our free printables as you’d like, even from our other coloring pages. The sky is the limit! When you’re coloring, keep in mind that you can use any color scheme you’d like. Puppies can be blue, purple, or even pink if you want!

Party Favors

This is a great idea for children’s parties. A group activity like coloring can help foster a sense of community and be a lot of fun for the party-goers. Plus! The littles get to take home their masterpieces with them. Or, if you want to give the kids a chance to help you decorate with their coloring pages, let them find a space in a designated area to display them throughout the party.

While the children are coloring and bonding, it will also give you a chance to catch up with your adult guests! It’s important to have a moment to connect with your friends as well—so coloring activities are a must at my parties.
