Tigers are my favorite big cat, and I know I can’t be the only one! A lot of pop culture has centered around tigers—Tigger, Shere Khan, Rajah, Hobbs, and more. But what makes these beautiful cats so amazing? Well, they're the biggest cat species on the planet and the true kings of the jungle. So who's ready to leap into some tiger coloring pages? I know I am! We have a wide array from cute tiger cubs coloring pages, funny cartoons, and more realistic tiger images for a good challenge.

Free Printable Tiger Coloring Pages

Did you know that every tiger has a different stripe pattern? They’re as unique as a human fingerprint! Tiger stripes are also functional, as they help these dangerous predators blend into the background. Tigers have “fake eyes”, which are the little white spots on the tips of their ears, so they seem to have eyes in the back of their heads. Tigers are one of the few big cats that love water and are great swimmers! This makes them even better hunters, especially since they’ll continue their hunt through rivers.

Tigers are the coolest of the cool cats, and they’re even more awesome to color. Time to crack open the colored pencils, crayons, or markers! Let’s make ourselves a tiger coloring book and dive on in. Tiger coloring pages are Grrreat!

Baby Tiger Coloring Pages

Tiger cubs may start off tiny, but they grow to be the biggest cat in the world! I know I said that before, but can you believe it? The best way to get your littles interested in tiger cubs (and art, of course!) is to get them coloring! Below, you’ll find super cute, simplistic tiger cub coloring images that are sure to inspire your little conservationist!

Realistic Tiger Coloring Pages

These realistic tiger coloring pages are for the adventurous! Personally, I like to add in shadows, play with the background, and really test the limits of my abilities with these tiger printouts. If you’re looking to use different kinds of media, try printing these tiger coloring pages on thicker cardstock or transferring the image onto a mixed media paper or canvas!

Crafting with Tiger Coloring Pages

When I was little, I can honestly say that Lisa Frank’s bright and fun designs mixed with Highlights magazine for kids’ animal facts got me interested in the world's creatures. Tigers were at the forefront of my interest because they were so mysterious. And today, we recognize tigers as an endangered species.

There are nine different subspecies of tiger, and six of these are endangered: Bengal, Siberian, Sumatran, Indochinese, Malayan, and South China tigers. White tigers are actually part of the Bengal subspecies, and their coloring is the result of a genetic mutation. Also, did you know that Bengal tigers make up half the world’s population of wild tigers? One thing’s for sure, we need more big cat rescues and more knowledge surrounding tigers.

Aside from making your very own coloring book, there are several crafts that we can do with our tiger coloring pages. Below are some cool crafts, but also some coloring tips and art techniques to help spark your inner artist!

Tiger Masks

When I was little, making masks was my favorite activity. Not only did I get to color, but I also got to wear it after! I have found that the best way to make a tiger mask is by cutting and pasting a portion of a coloring page onto a light, bendable piece of cardboard, such as a paper plate.

Once you’ve mounted your colored and cut-out coloring page onto the paper plate, feel free to cut eye holes and trim the border of the tiger head. Punch holes on either side of the face, nearest the cheeks or eyes, and fasten with a stretchy string.

Remember, every tiger’s stripes are different, feel free to add some more of your own!

Tiger Placemats

Want to decorate your space with more than just a framed tiger printable? This craft isn’t just for a Safari Party (see below), but it’s also for everyday use. Creating a tiger placemat may require more than your normal supplies, but it’s worth it!

First, we’re going to print out all the tiger printouts we want! Then we’re going to cut out our favorite features of each printout and paste them onto a posterboard. Here’s where we can get creative: cut your posterboard in any shape you’d like before or after pasting your favorite tigers.

Next, we’re going to color, color, color! Feel free to use crayons, markers, colored pencils, or even paint if you’d like. Once we’re done, you can choose to leave the surface as is, or laminate. Personally, because I’m going to have a plate on top of this beautiful tiger placemat, I prefer to laminate. I can be pretty messy if it’s my favorite food, and I don’t want to ruin all my hard work.

Rainforest Party!

Do you or a loved one have an obsession with tigers? Don’t worry, me too! The best way to celebrate a birthday is by celebrating with a theme. If your little loves tigers, this is the best way to decorate for the party!

As a pre-party activity, have the kids gather for a coloring activity by allowing them to choose their favorite coloring page. Explain that these tiger coloring pages are going to be for them to choose their seat for cake and ice cream (as a placemat). Or! Have the littles color in their favorite tiger (or other rainforest animal!) to hang up to help decorate the space. There’s nothing more rewarding than showing how awesome your coloring page is.

Rainforest Research for Littles

Are you a teacher struggling to keep your students’ attention when it comes to big units like the rainforest? When tackling such a large subject, sometimes it’s great to have a small break with some education sprinkled in. Tiger coloring pages can help with that!

Have your students choose a tiger coloring page (or other rainforest animal) from our amazing free collection. The rules of the game are as follows: choose your coloring page, research a fun fact (as individuals or as a small group), color, and then present to the class if they’re feeling brave enough! Some interesting facts can not only be found on this page, but on many other pages as well. Amp up the difficulty if you have older students with different animals by creating groups with each animal and requiring each student to come up with a fun fact for their assigned group animal.

Greeting Cards

There’s nothing sweeter than getting a personally made greeting card from a loved one. Shrink down one of your favorite tiger coloring pages to a half- or quarter-sized page and print onto a thick card stock if possible. Next, fold the printable into half or quarters, depending on the size of your image.

Now it’s time to color! Personally, I like to use markers or colored pencils for this because of the cardstock texture. Don’t forget to write a heartfelt or funny birthday message on the inside and be sure to sign your name!

Lion Coloring Pages

If you're looking for more printable of lovable but predatory animals, why not check out our lion coloring pages, full of the king of the jungle (and savannah)!
